Our Story

Committed to serving the community

​Welcome to AAC, the Assam Association of Chennai, uniting the Assamese community since the 1950s. Beyond cultural festivities like Bihu and Puja, AAC engages in altruistic activities.

 

Our beach cleanup drives preserve Chennai's coastal beauty, while blood collection efforts save lives, bridging the donor-patient gap. We respond to natural calamities with flood relief efforts, supporting our neighbors in distress.

 

AAC is more than a cultural association; we're a compassionate ally. Embracing diversity, we aim to create a harmonious world, rooted in tradition, and dedicated to serving others. Join us to experience our warm community and celebrate our heritage.

Since 2000, The Assam Association of Chennai has played a major role in the lives of our Assamese community living in and around Chennai. Our association is a place of gathering where members can come together to socialize and engage in healthy activities together.
 
At AAC, our mission is to enhance the community’s quality of life by providing residents a wide range of recreational, and social activities that are both unifying and empowering.
 
For many years, we have been making an impact on the lives of members in the community through our wide range of enriching programs and events. What started off as a big idea in a small space, has grown to be the hub for recreational enrichment.
